Shuttle to Vancouver

Included in your Registration is transportation from Whistler to Vancouver on Friday, Sept. 18. 
Busses will leave Whistler at 13:00 and take delegates to a central location to be determined in downtown Vancouver.   A bagged lunch will be provided to enjoy on the trip or when we stop at Shannon Falls along the Sea-to-Sky Corridor where you will be able to get out and stretch your legs or use the facilities.   

The cost of the shuttle is included in the registration fee for all registered participants and exhibitors. Companions who have selected this option (fee is $60CAD - or included in the all inclusive package) are welcome to join us.

TRIUMF Tour


A tour of TRIUMF will be take place on Friday, September 18.  

Busses will leave Whistler at 13:00 and take delegates to TRIUMF.   A bagged lunch will be provided to enjoy on the trip or when we stop at Shannon Falls along the Sea-to-Sky Corridor where you will be able to get out and stretch your legs or use the facilities.   

The cost of the tour is included in the registration fee for all registered participants and exhibitors. Companions who have selected this option (fee is $60CAD - or included in the all inclusive package) are welcome to join us. The buses will pick everyone up at a central location to be determined at Whistler.

The tour will  cover the TRIUMF SRF laboratory and cryomodule assembly area, the ISAC-II superconducting heavy ion linac, the ARIEL superconducting electron linac and the beta-NMR material science area. 

Please ensure you wear sensible footwear as the tour route involves a variety of different floor surfaces and stairs.

The busses taking attendees to the TRIUMF tour or downtown Vancouver will not be returning to Whistler.  Attendees, may need to make arrangements to stay in Vancouver overnight.    If you are flying out on Friday - ensure that you leave sufficient time to get through the security check point for International flights at the airport.    

We have arranged, following the tour, for delegates to be transferred to a downtown Vancouver location that is central and close to public transportation.   Please go to the TRIUMF Tour registration desk at the conference no later than Tuesday at noon, where a signup sheet will be available for  you to indicate the time you wish to leave Whistler.  The bus departures from Whistler will be staggered.  If you have an early flight on Friday evening you should ensure that you are leaving on an earlier bus, so that when the tour is over you will depart from TRIUMF early.

Delegates continuing to downtown after the tour may leave their luggage on the bus, you will need to remember which bus you were on so that your luggage goes with you.  The bus departure times will be staggered.  A definite departure time can not be determined at this time.

At TRIUMF we will have a room for delegates to store their luggage during the tour if they are not going on the bus after the tour.
